Hi bloggers!
Today we are going to talk about the most important character of “Raspall”. He is Francesc Cabanes Pastor (20th of December of 1954). He is known how Paco Cabanes or “El Genovés”. The name “El Genovés” comes from his village because his village is called “Genovés”, a locality from the province of Valencia.

About the Match

Hi bloggers. Today, we are going to talk about how to play a match in “Pelota Valenciana” with the modality of “Raspall”. How we talked in others posts, “Raspall” is a modality that play with a direct style mode and we can play it in a ball court or in the street. The matches can be with one vs one, two vs two, three vs two or three vs three. About score, in the ball court and in the street play seven games (35 points). The winner of each game receives 5 points. The score between games is “15, 30, Val, Joc”. If you get those 4 points in the game, you win the game and your team already adds 5 points in the overall sum of the game.

Clothing and material.

Glove: For the modality of "Raspall" it is necessary make a glove that will carry the following materials:

- 1 vinyl glove (from the hand with which you will perform the beating).
- 1 roll of 10 cm of adhesive tape.
- 0.5 m Tesamoll.
- A deck of cards.
- 1 white cardboard (to draw our protections).
- 1 scissors.
- 1 bottle of hard plastic.

Optional: if we can find 4 leather thimbles specific to the "Raspall" modality, much better.

Balls: of all the types of balls that there are of the different modalities of “pelota valenciana”, we can emphasize that only for this modality in particular we would use the ball of “vaqueta”, although nowadays for the price that is worth a ball of “vaqueta” is beginning to use the balls of tanned leather (red and black, which are specific to the "Raspall" mode).

Clothing:
The sports luggage consists of a short T-shirt and white shorts. Advertising printing is allowed.
The local teams will go red and the visitors will be blue, but the two will coincide with wearing white shorts.

Introduction about "Pelota Valenciana".

Hello, all bloggers!

Pelota Valenciana is a predominant sport in certain Spanish communities. There are diferent modalities, but the most used in the field  of teaching is the Raspall because it adapts perfectly to any type of student because it is very easy to work.

In this tab of the blog we will publish information such as its history, origins of the Pelota Valenciana, how to make a glove in your houses, some factsheet as an example to make a didactic unit in physical education classes, the rules of the game, etc.

For yout practise we need a glove to protect the hand with which we are going to play. We don't need a lot of material and most importantly, it is very fan to practise.

As countries where it is practised at present, we have only Spain, speaking of this modality in particular, since as it is played in small regions, it costs to extend in the international scope. However, we must emphasize that this sport is considered the mother of all the forms of ball by hand that we will find in this blog.

I hope you like it when you start to see all the information that we will upload. Here you have an example of a game in case you want to takke a look.
