Tamburello introduction

Hi everyone!!

In this first post about Tamburello, we are going to make a small introduction to this little-know sport.

Tamburello is a sport of implement and ball, traditional of Italy, whose origin goes back the middle ages.
this sport takes its name from the implement used to hit the ball, the tamburello, which is used as a shovel.

 

Tamburello shovel has a circular shape. Formerly was made of wood, nowadays it is made of plastic reinforced by copper wire a synthetic fabric is tightened that allows the ball to bounce.

Two teams participate in this sport. Each tema is made up of 5 players in half of the corresponding field.

There are three functions: 

- The defender, situated in the part more remote field.

- Ther forward in the part more cloe to the line that divides the fields.

- The central player: int the middle part of the field.

In indoor can play 3 players for team.

It´s a game of divides court, which is to return the ball to the opposing team, with a single blow and looking for the fault of the opponent. Players should be hit on the fly or after a single boat on the ground.

The Tamburello can be played both in indoors or outdoors. In this way, the weather will not be an impediment when practicing this sport.

Regarding of points, is similar to the tennis place, by games, 15.30.40.50 = game.

If two teams get the 40 points, the game is given to the first who get two advantages.

Matches are played 8 games and every 3 games the teams change their side.
