Tambeach emerged 45 years ago (1969) on Sicilian beaches.
It is in 1996 (important year for the FIPT) when the first official Tambeach championship is organized taking advantage of the centenary of the Italian championships.
It is here when the specialty of Tambeach obtains the official recognition, joining the modalities of tamburello in the open air and ..., creating a technical regulation that will allow to participate in all the federated championships in Italy.
It is from 1997 when it begins to expand towards Germany, where the German federation organizes the first German Open of Tambeach.
From this moment on we start to organize tournaments all over Italy and beyond.
In Catalonia it is from 2007 when an international tournament ir organized near Barcelona.
How do you play?
The Tambeach is played on a sand field.It often serves a volleyball court as a field. The game ball is a soft tennis ball.
The dimensions of the field are:
- Single: 7,50 x 24 meters.
- Double: 11 x 24 meters
A single game of 12 or 15 points is played in the previous phases to the champion, and to 12 points in the final phases. If it is tied, the are determinated with one more of only 5 points.
The games can be individual and double, in addition to masculine, femenine and mixed.
